Hyperspectral imagery allows for the characterisation of the chemical and physical properties of materials. Through their unique spectral signatures materials can be identified and located and quantified in the imagery. These images also provide information such as the health of agricultural crops, disease, nutrient and water stress, soil mineralogy, and a suite of other characteristics. Such data can provide valuable indicators for the presence of minerals and ores, chemical spills and hydrocarbons.
